Hey, there! It's me again.
Yes, Constance.
Before we proceed, I made mention of being sure of the water resistance feature of your watch before subjecting it to the test. Let me explain the whole theory behind water resistance before moving on to the third know-how in the know how series.
WATER RESISTANCE
If your watch doesn't say it's water resistant, treat it as if it were a piece of paper. Water can do terrible things to it. If its specifications mention a vague sort of water resistance, you really want to avoid getting it wet.
Now, what does it mean for a watch to be water-resistant? A watch stamped with "Water Resistant" means that it is humidity-protected. It can endure a bit of water splashes from washing your hands or being caught in the rain. However, water resistance does not mean you should swim or shower with your watch on. Different Types of Water Resistance in Watches
1. 3 BAR/3 ATM/30m/100ft: Your watch can withstand accidental splashes. You can also keep it on during shower but I recommend that you do so only if the watch is new or if it has been recently resealed. This is because the watch water resistance seal may degrade over time, especially if it takes a knock.

2. 5 BAR/5 ATM/50m/165ft: Your watch can withstand splashes, the shower and it is suitable for swimming. It is not suitable for water sports, pool-side diving or sea diving, though.

3. 10 BAR/10 ATM/100m/330ft: Your watch is suitable for swimming, snorkelling but not suitable for high board diving or aqua diving.

4. 20 BAR/20 ATM/200m/660ft: Your watch is suitable for swimming, high-impact water sports and scuba diving.

5. More than 30 BAR/30 ATM/300m/990ft: Suitable for all high-impact water sports, scuba diving and saturation diving.

So with these few points, i hope i was able to put it to you that it isnt every watch you play “GOD” with. Find out first before entering that swimming pool with your watch.
May the Lifespan of your Watch be prolonged, amen.
Now that the subject – WATER RESISTANCE – has been cleared, I will briefly discuss the third know-how in my next newsletter! Stay safe till we meet again.
PS: I am still a sucker for a good love story. Love thy watch, ciao my dears.
